Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, motherhood, and life as a coaches wife. Hope you have a nice stay!

Ode to awkward hugs, by Bode

Ode to awkward hugs, by Bode

Everytime we have taken family photos the photographer only sends us the "good" ones. I alwaya email back and ask for the ones that actually show how my kids are sometimes. The "real" ones. For example, one Christmas shoot my son lost his mind and was crying while standing over the word JOY. Now if that doesn't capture real-life I don't know what does. It's fun having a picture perfect memory, I'm not saying I don't hang those ones, but my favourites are the ones that show real life at that time. That really capture the circus that is our family.

So I'm presenting my sons most awkward photos from our recent trip.

He is 3. He isn't too tall. He likes to lean in with his head before he brings out his arms to hug, he's lazy like that. He's also at "crotch" height. Put all those wonderful things together......

I now present, awkward photos featuring Bode.

Enjoy.

He had just woken up from a nap and we were pretty sure he fell asleep again. Daisy was so cute and let him just stand there and she kept kissing his head. The table beside us was laughing so hard at him and thought he was asleep as well.

Um ya, nothing awkward here. He loves standing and leaning before he puts those arms out.

Its as if his inner monologue is "stand, lean head first, bend forward at the waist......and wait for the arms......wait for it".

I am almost positive he used Chewie to wipe his face as well. Winning.

For the final photo I present one from a year ago. My son tripped on his way to meet Buzz. The trip resulted in his face hitting his crotch and his hat being knocked off. If only this could come with sound because there was a loud "bonk".

I hope these made someone smile. Please share your cringe worthy but awesome photos from your vacations.
