Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, motherhood, and life as a coaches wife. Hope you have a nice stay!

DIY Raised Dog Bed

DIY Raised Dog Bed

Doing my normal Pinterest searching I can across an impressive dog bed. We are currently renovating our master bedroom and bathroom and I wanted to make something that would go with the decor and colour scheme.

I can across this blog, Wouldn't It be Lovely, and followed her directions on how to build this amazing dog bed. You can find her blog link here.

Here is the frame all together and painted.

I was able to purchase everything she listed at Home Depot and I ordered 50 yards of nylon strap on Amazon.

I couldn't find the exact L brackets, but these ones worked just as well.

My dog bed dimensions were 2.5 feet by 3 feet, since my dog is a nice medium sized dog. I went with grey nylon straps and painted the base a light grey.

I double wrapped one end of the strap on each section. I rotated the end that I started on, so there would be one side of all double wrapped.

To be honest once the frame was together, the cutting and weaving of the nylon straps took the longest. I had a staple gun blister by the end of it all. I made sure to double wrap one end of each strap, and rotated the side that was double wrapped. I pulled as hard as I could before stapling, because your dogs weight will make it sink alittle eventually.

After I finished all the straps in one direction I began weaving them through in the other direction. I finished off the ends with upholstery tacks in silver to complete the look. There are endless possibilities with outcomes! You could paint the base a different colour, use a different colour strap, or use different tacks at the end. So many possibilities. I hope you enjoyed this quick blog about how I made our dog bed. Enjoy!
