Who says you can't have a staycation.

To all my football coaches wives,

Sometimes you just need to get out of the house. Sometimes that time is right after National Signing Day. Sometimes that trip can be a 45 minute drive to the city to stay a night away (with or without the kids). Sometimes that trip can be covered by many points your husband collects being on the road recruiting.

I am learning as I go that I need to make the most of the little moments with my husband when he is home. Being home with the kids solo for the past month doesn't mean we have to go far, it just means we need to look at different walls even for one night. Celebrating my husband's birthday might mean staying in a hotel, drinking champagne we picked up at Walgreens, and ordering room service while watching a movie. I am still a work in progress but learning that everything can't be perfect. Every birthday can't be a big planned out bash. What matters is spending time as a family, away from football sometimes.

Walgreens special !

So congrats on making it through another recruiting period!

How do you get away or unwind from football season?
