Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, motherhood, and life as a coaches wife. Hope you have a nice stay!

Dog Friendly Hotels

Dog Friendly Hotels

Disney started a project recently, or at least new to me, and they are allowing your furry friends to stay at 4 select Disney hotels. The 4 dog friendly hotels are,

  1. Disney Yacht Club

  2. Disney Port Orleans Riverside

  3. Disney Art of Animation Resort

  4. Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground

Disney will be charging an extra fee per night. Disney Yacht Club with charge $75 extra per night, and the remaining 3 resorts will charge $50 extra a night. They will allow 2 dogs. Must provide proof of vaccinations. Dogs must always be leashed and well behaved. These rooms have easy access to outdoor walkways for exercise and to green spaces with pet relief areas. Upon arrival, dogs and their owners will be greeted with a complimentary Pluto’s Welcome Kit. I’m assuming that these rooms will fill up fast. If you are worried about allergies or have a fear of dogs, please know that dogs will only be in designated rooms and floors. Of the 28,000 rooms at Disney World resorts, 250 of those will allow dogs. Plus Disney will have extra cleaning in place for those rooms. If allergies or fear are a big concern, you can always choose to not stay at either of these resorts, or ask to be far from the designated dog areas. As far as transportation, dogs are allowed on Fort Wilderness and Port Orleans Riverside internal bus service. Only service dogs on Disney transportation motor coaches, monorails, or watercraft. They may however ride on the Minnie Van Lyft service.

Another option is dog boarding on the Walt Disney World property at Best Friends Pet Care. The Disney website describes the location as,

Best Friends Pet Care includes:

  • 17,000 square feet of air-conditioned indoor space

  • 10,000 square feet of covered outdoor runs and play areas

  • A 25,000 square-foot dog park

The staff is comprised of 75 highly trained pet care providers, who are all animal lovers, first and foremost.

They are open an hour before the theme parks open, and close an hour after the parks close. I imagine drop off and pick up can be busy.

You also have the option for overnight boarding. Best Friends Pet Care also offers to take care of more than just dogs. Here is a link to their website HERE

Their facility can accommodate up to 300 dogs, cats and small pets. Reservations ahead of time are highly recommended. They offer many different levels and options for overnight boarding. The Disney website describes the overnight boarding as,

Dogs

  • VIP Luxury Suites – This 226-square-foot suite package includes 2 potty walks, 2 playgroups, a flat-screen television, webcam, bedtime story and, after a 3-day stay, a bath.

  • Vacation Villas – This 72-square-foot suite package includes one potty walk, playgroup, a flat-screen television and a turndown biscuit.

  • Indoor/Outdoor Suite – This 32-to-48-square-foot suite package includes one potty walk.

  • Indoor Suite – This 36-square-foot suite package includes 2 potty walks.

Cats

  • 2-Level Condo

  • 4-Level Condo

Man, what cat wouldn’t love a 4 level condo!?! If you want to enquirer about pricing you can call (407) 209-3126 or visit their website for up to date pricing by clicking HERE

Prices for dog boarding range anywhere from $48 a night to $299. Depending on all the add ons you wish to purchase. I was shocked it was $48, considering I paid $55 when we lived in Ann Arbor. $48 only gets you two potty walks and linen and bowls. The $299 gets you everything under the stars, even a flat screen tv.

So if you’re bringing your furry friend along, please know that Disney has options. You could even use both options. Maybe drop your dog off for day boarding and then pick them up after visiting the parks to come and enjoy the night with the family. I recently got a dog so I know the stress of worrying something will happen to them when I’m far away.

Would you bring your dog to Disney?
