Lola Rose's rose bedroom

If you have seen any previous blogs you know I have a unique style and it's not everyone's taste. But it's mine. That's the one thing my best friend taught me, you'll love your home if you fill it with pieces you love. I have no theme necessarily, but like a room to give off a certain vibe. Lola's middle name is Rose, so I knew I wanted to make it a flower theme.

I can't recommend a laser level enough. I use it for hanging oictures, shelves and now wall murals. It's worth the price. It adjusts itself on slightly uneven surfaces ( up to a point, I believe 6 degrees) and works both vertically and horizontally. I recommend this

The paint colour I purchased at Lowe's and is called "Knights Armor" and was in the satin finish in the signature collection.  Keep in mind the colour may look different in your dwelling based on the undercoat. I absolutely love how the final colour turned out. I'm not a huge fan of pink but I still wanted to soften up the overall feeling of her room. I'm doing that will faux fur pillows and drapes in a dusty rose colour. Accessorizing with soft pink and gold on the book shelves. Keeping the darker colours on the walls and mural.

For the floral wallpaper I picked out a mural from Wayfair. You can find that here. Most murals and wallpaper run over the $500 mark. There is a gap at the top, and I plan on finishing that out with some trim. Even with the extra cost of wood, it was still the more economical option. Plus I think moulding around the ceiling with really give the room a regal feel.

I'll keep you updated on the progress as I go. I have drapes to hang and finishing touches to complete the look. I am thrilled with the way the room turned out. It feels so much fresher and alive. The yellow really dulled the look of the room down. Our whole house is painted in that yellow, unfortunately, so I'm slowly covering it one room at a time.

I hope you enjoy following along as I redecorate and design my daughter's room.
